study at Sunway college are eligible to apply for aid from the Education
 Initiative Charity
IPOH: SUNWAY College Ipoh (SCI) has offered  RM200,000 worth of scholarships to One Caring Heart Malaysia.
The scholarships are for children of single mothers and poor families
through a partnership programme between the the two organisations called
 the Education Initiative Charity.
One Caring Heart Malaysia president Puan Sri Dr Susan Cheah said the
scholarship programme, the first of its kind in Ipoh, is for tertiary
courses offered by SCI this year.
"The scholarship programme is part of the Sunway-Jeffrey Cheah Foundation's corporate social responsibility initiative.
"We want to help marginalised women and families by lessening their children's education expenses.
"If the response for the scholarships is good, we will also offer the scholarships to needy students next year," she said.
The guest-of-honour was deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Heng Seai Kie.
Also present were SCI chief executive officer Cheng Mien Wee, college
principal Adawiah Norli Yusuf, and National Association of Women
Entrepreneurs of Malaysia president R. Sarojini Ruth.
