Young children molested
KUALA TERENGGANU: Two young children have been molested in the last two days.
A three-year-old girl from Kampung Bari Besar, Setiu, complained to her grandmother that she felt pain when urinating.
State CID chief Assistant Comm Mohd Hazam Abdul Halim said the
51-year-old granny examined her and found bruises on her private parts.
“The grandmother rushed her to the hospital here. The medical report
confirmed that she was a victim of sexual abuse,” he said yesterday.
The child told her grandmother that her father often “played” with her private parts.
The woman immediately lodged a police report at the Penarik police station here on Tuesday.
It is learnt that the child remained with her 25-year-old father after his wife left him.
ACP Mohd Hazam said the suspect was detained and remanded for a week shortly after the report was made.
In an unrelated case yesterday, a female clerk at a palm oil refinery
from Kampung Lintang Jerangau, Dungun, claimed that her colleague
sexually abused her seven-year-old daughter.
The 24-year-old woman said her daughter had accompanied her to her workplace and was in a room close to her workstation.
State Deputy CID chief Superintendent Khairi Ahrasa said the male colleague then entered the room.
He said the mother suspected something amiss when the girl acted strangely.
Supt Khairi said the mother then sent her to a nearby clinic and was told that the girl had bruises on her private parts.
