Taxi driver shot with pistol he found in taxi
KUALA LUMPUR: A taxi driver, who
is a part-time debt collector, was shot in the thigh with a pistol which
he claimed he found at the back seat of his taxi early Thursday.
The 27-year-old man told police he had dropped off a passenger in front of a restaurant in Sri Hartamas at 7.30am when he found a backpack while searching for his water bottle.

City CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the man claimed that he opened the bag and found the pistol inside it.
“He was trying to open the magazine of the pistol when it suddenly
fired. The bullet went through the palm of his left hand and hit his
left thigh,” Ku said.
The man has undergone an operation to remove the bullet at the Univesity Malaya Medical Centre.
