Prime Minister arrives in Riyadh

MEKAH: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak arrived in Riyadh this afternoon to pay his last respects to Saudi Arabia Crown Prince, Sultan Abdulaziz Al Saud who died on Saturday.

The aircraft carrying the Prime Minister and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor landed at the Saudi Arabian Air Force Base in Riyadh at 1.55pm (6.55pm Malaysian time) and he was greeted on arrival by members of the Saudi royal family.

The Crown Prince, who was in his 80s and was the Deputy Prime Minister, Defence Minister and Aviation Minister, died outside the country on Saturday after being ill.

Many foreign dignitaries had arrived for the funeral of the Crown Prince scheduled to be held after the Asar prayer, and the funeral would be aired live by Saudi Arabian national television, KSA1 AND KSA2.

Najib and his wife were scheduled to return home later this evening and were expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning. - BERNAMA
