Rationing Continues - Syabas
KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 (Bernama)-- Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn
Bhd (SYABAS) continues to control and reduce the release of water from
Sungai Selangor Dam and Klang gates on the instruction of the state
government.
Its assistant general manager (Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Department), Priscilla Alfred, in a statement here today, said although there was a rise in the water level of Sungai Selangor due to the rain in several areas a few days ago, the water rationing would continue until a date to be decided by the state government.
She said the rain had helped to increase water production at treatment plants from Sungai Selangor to some areas affected by Stage Three of the water rationing.
Meanwhile, the water treatment plants at Cheras Batu 11 and Bukit Tampoi gave begun operation since Mach 17 and 19, respectively, with monitoring conducted on the ammonia content in Sungai Langat.
The Third Stage water Rationing involves several areas in Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor and Shah Alam.
