KUALA LIPIS: Scores of motorists traveling to Kelantan to celebrate
Aidiladha were caught in a massive traffic jam at Km56 Jalan Merapoh-Gua
Musang near here that lasted more than two hours today.
The 12.30pm traffic crawl occurred when a trailer driver, who was trying to avoid crashing into a car lost control, causing the vehicle to skid before coming to a stop in the middle of the narrow single-carriageway.
The lorry driver and his assistant in their 40s escaped unhurt in the incident.
Kuala Lipis police chief Superintendent Abdul Razak Hassan said the mishap caused a three-kilometer crawl before the stretch was opened about 3.30pm.
He said police personnel were stationed along the stretch to control and ensure a smooth traffic flow.
Checks revealed the lorry, which was traveling to Kelantan was ferrying wheat flour in huge containers.
No damages were reported.
