Flash floods hit Klang after heavy downpour
KLANG: Flash floods strike various parts of Klang Friday morning,affecting several areas, including Taman Sri Andalas, Taman Selatan,Taman Bayu Perdana, Taman Melawis, Taman Sentosa, Taman Sg Ujong, Taman Palmgrove, Padang Jawa and Taman Chi Liung following a heavy downpour and thunderstorms since 3.30 am, today.

Among those affected during the floods at Taman Melawis, is long-time resident, FLY FM deejay and 8TV personality, Prem Shanker, whose house porch had been flooded from the rain.
" I had gotten up at 5am to find my front porch was flooded with ankle-deep water. My family and I had to remove water from the house
" Some of the water had seeped on to the hall and kitchen as well. Worst still the entrance to Taman Melawis was flooded in knee-deep water," he said adding that he had to help several residents heading for work in the morning by directing traffic to prevent carsfrom breaking down during the floods.
The floods also affected schools, including Sekolah Menengah SMK La Salle, SMK Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Simpang Lima, SMK ACS Klang and SMK (P) Methodist Klang.
