Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sinar Bintang@Star was organized an orientation day on 31st December,2013 at Dewan Gemilang @ Dewan Dato' Melvin at 8.30am. The event ran smoothly with the presence of parents very proudly early in the morning . I would like to extend my great appreciation to the committee members due to the excellence job.The Principal addressed several issues regarding school development in academic performance, Education Blue Print (PPPM)2013-2025 and about PISA (Program International Students Assessment) in Science,Mathematics and Knowledge.Base on PISA reports our ranked showed 52 out of 65 countries which means we are too far behind among the developing countries even compare to Vietnam.This is really embarrassing us.We have to do something to solve the current situation in  teaching profession wisely.

Critical thinking

The teaching and learning process in the classroom should be able to generate students mind set  through high order thinking skill (Hots) in all subjects.Teachers must encourage them to think out of box to ensure our students enrich of knowledge.We don't want our students just only memorized all the subjects but the major thing they should master and understand deeply the whole concept of knowledge.Teachers must play a vital role to  use critical thinking in the teaching and learning process to enhancing students learning effectively.Attitude is a final decision whether we love the job or we work just to fulfilling our duty for the seek of receiving salary  every month.May Allah The Almighty grant us and protect every single teacher from that kind of bad habit.

ABC

Mrs.Hanipah pointing out on teaching and learning in the classroom and reminding teachers to teach effectively. Mrs.Pauline Senior Assistant of Students Affair stressed on students discipline and reminding parents to take care of their children.Mr. Cheli Senior Assistant (afternoon session) also sharing the important input about ABC-Attitude Breakthrough Challenge  to the audience.The challenge to change become more beneficial to the teachers,educators and students lifestyle in order to fulfilling their needs for the better future.Mr. Sulaiman K Viraighuti further reminding parents on students involving in Co curricular as part of the academic criteria that obligatory to all students in school.Ten percent weightage of the co curricular activities was taken into account beside academic achievements.

Inviting parents

The last speaker Mr. Simon Kor PTA Chairman inviting parents to participating in school program for the benefits of students.He told audience to support and taking care of their sons and daughters at home. "This is our school communities he added" .Special thanks to our beloved parents because they all very concern on school development in all areas.Together we  develop our school performance in academic excellence, co-curricular, students behaviour to uphold  our school victory as  A STAR SCHOOL.
