Tunku Abdul Jalil passes away

BARU: Tunku Laksamana Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil Iskandar Ibrahim Ismail
Sultan Ibrahim passed away at the royal ward of Sultanah Aminah Hospital
at 7.11 pm today.
He was 25. The fourth of six siblings, Tunku Jalil has been living
with stage four liver cancer after he was diagnosed with the illness
late last year.
The news of his death was announced by the Johor Council of the Royal Court president, Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli.
Tunku Jalil was diagnosed with liver cancer late last year and
underwent a liver transplant on Dec 10, 2014 at the First Affiliated
Hospital of Sun-Yat-Sen University in Guandong, China.
His illness led Sultan Ibrahim to set up the Tunku Laksamana Johor
Cancer Foundation, which helps cancer patients in need of treatment and
financial aid.
Tunku Jalil, who was born on July 5, 1990, was trained by the police's Special Action Unit and holds the rank of Inspector.
He was known for his love of wildlife and animals. He was once a
volunteer zookeeper in the Singapore Zoo for a year and the London Zoo
for two years.
The new mosque at the Johor police headquarters was named after him.
Tunku Jalil received his early education at Sekolah Sri Utama Johor
Baru and then later at the Yayasan Pendidikan Johor (YPJ) Zaikarim
Johor Baru International School.
He is a degree holder in Zoological and Conservation Studies from a university in the United Kingdom.
