Are We Ready To Be A Teacher?

The question stated above always comes in my mind . What kind of teacher's we want to produce for the country ? Are we satisfied with our work or we just work to fulfill the daily life and receiving salary every month ? Are we ready to be a teacher ? Teacher is a person who has a capability in their field. They have enough train at the University or College with a multiple discipline or skill to be a teacher. They learn how to conduct their students in the classroom and studying pedagogy as part of teaching and learning process but sad to say some of them are fail to practice and implement successfully the job. Some teachers does not bother what is happening in the classroom, poor managing pupils , less lesson prepare and failure to create a conducive process to enhance students participation and collaboration among them.

Teaching profession

They main focus of teacher is not to transfer knowledge and information only but more essential is to develop human intellectuality, build up performance and self confidence , encourage them to study regularly and appreciate their achievement at all areas. Teaching profession is a professional job . It is not a game or gamble because we are dealing with people, shaping the young generation to become a useful citizen. We are holding the God trust and will answer to The Almighty for every step in life . This is our duty and responsibility to the community. They are very concern about their kids . We need to cater them in a good manner to ensure they can stand on their own way when they leave school. In line with the Government Transformation Program (GTP), Education system will change slowly from examination to assessment to evaluate students base on psychometric, co -curriculum achievement, school base assessment and centralize examination. The evaluating component assessing should be clear to all teachers and administrators in school to ensure they can provide student needs with fairly , accurately and trustworthy.

People with a various assumption and interpretation always find excuses to make a change and move forward and sometimes will abuse their work . Teachers must listen, analyst and accepting the instruction to make a continuous improvement in our teaching transformation program. We must take fully responsibility to up hold our image with accountability and integrity to strengthen education quality system
