Cuepacs, PSD agree to extend deadline

PUTRAJAYA: Both Cuepacs and the Public Service Department (PSD) have agreed to extend the deadline for the return of the option forms.

Cuepacs president Datuk Omar Osman said that all issues brought up on the New Remuneration Scheme in the Public Service (SBPA) has been resolved.

"We are happy to announce that all issues brought up by us regarding the scheme have been discussed and resolved during the meeting," he told reporters during a joint press conference with PSD Deputy Director-General (Operations) Datuk Dr Ismail Alias after a five-hour meeting with the department earlier this morning.

Omar said the deadline for the SBPA option has been extended to January 15 whilst the deadline for the extension of retirement age to 60 years old remains the same, which is on December 30.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak told the department and Cuepacs to hold a meeting and to determine whether to postpone the implementation of the New Remuneration Scheme in the Public Service (SBPA) or to extend the deadline for the return of the option form.
