Burst Pipe Affects Water Supply To 13 Areas In Kuala Lumpur
KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 (Bernama) -- A total of 13 areas involving some
90,000 households experienced unscheduled interruption of water supply
and low water pressure after a major pipe channeling water from Kolam
Air Perkuat Kuari burst.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas), general manager of
corporate communications and public affairs, Priscilla Alfred said
following the incident the water supply valve was immediately shut to
avoid a long period of water interruption.
"Repair works are being carried out and is expected to be completed by
10 am tomorrow morning (April 4)," she said in a statement here, today.
She said among areas affected were Taman Bukit Permai, Kampung Cheras
Baru (Bukit A, B,C), Taman Lembah Maju, Taman Pandan Mewah, Taman Putra,
Taman Mawar, Taman Muda, Taman Teratai, Taman Saga, Taman Melur, Taman
Mega Jaya and Taman Seraya.
Priscilla said the repair period depended on the current situation at
the site as the burst pipe is located on a steep slope, while weather
and soil conditions are unstable.
