Only Port Dickson Records Unhealthy Air Quality

LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Air quality nationwide has improved as of 9
am today except for Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan which recorded an
air pollutant index (API) reading of 104.
The Department of Environment stated in its portal that 36 areas
recorded moderate API readings including Langkawi (99); Bandaraya Melaka
(98); Bukit Rambai (97); Pasir Gudang and Banting (93); Sri Manjung
(92); Larkin Lama (91); Port Klang (86); and Kangar (84).
Other areas in the same API category are Seberang Jaya 2, Perai and
Kuala Terengganu (80); Shah Alam (79); Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang
(78); Putrajaya and Balok Baru, Kuantan (77); Kemaman (75); and Sekolah
Kebangsaan Jalan Pegoh, Ipoh (72).
Meanwhile, 14 areas in Sabah and Sarawak recorded good air quality with API readings of between 28 and 49.
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100,
moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and 300 and
above, hazardous.
